The Cisco Desk Phone 9800 Key Expansion Module (KEM) improves the functionality of the phone by adding extra extension lines and programmable buttons. These buttons can be set up as line keys, speed-dial buttons, or other buttons for supported phone features.
The 9800 KEM doesn’t have its own local power; the KEM power is provided from the host phone
