Does the monitor power on?

Make sure you have turned on the monitor by pressing the Power button.
Make sure the power cord is properly and securely connected to the monitor and power outlet.
Plug another electrical device into the power outlet to verify that the outlet is supplying power.

Does the monitor display an image?

Make sure the computer connected to the monitor is on and not in sleep mode.
Make sure the video cable connecting the monitor to the computer is properly and securely connected.
Make sure the correct input source is selected.

Is the screen at your preferred brightness?

Adjust the brightness and contrast settings.
Adjust the resolution to the correct Aspect Ratio.
Reset the monitor to factory settings.

Most monitors have an auto-adjust button or an auto-adjust option in the monitor's main menu.
Adjust the horizontal and vertical controls via the OSD Menu.

Do the USB ports work?

Make sure the USB cable is connected properly.
Try changing to another USB port (if applicable).
Some USB devices require a higher electric current; connect the device directly to the computer.

Does the monitor adjust positions?

Not all monitor stands have adjustment capabilities. Check to see if yours does.
Make sure there are no obstructions near or on the monitor, and that there is adequate spacing.
