Production Manager

Jacksonville, FL

As a Production Manager,  you will primarily be responsible for directly overseeing processes and distribution center functions. You will be a key asset to monitoring and analyzing the current system of production, conduct provisional checks to ensure effectiveness and proactively create strategies for continuous improvement. Overall, you will be required to liaison with other team members and supporting management to ensure smooth day to day operations, make personnel decisions (regarding hiring, compensation, promotions, discipline and termination of operational support staff), support safety and OSHA standards and monitor operational costs. Through you, we will maintain efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of our customers and clients.

Main Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the daily activities of the distribution center, while providing supervision and direction to direct and indirect reports
  • Set employee performance expectations and standards, track performance, and provide feedback
  • Identify and implement large-scale process improvement initiatives using data-driven techniques
  • Responsible for reviewing incoming and outgoing shipments and maintaining organization within the center
  • Recruit qualified candidates, and provide basic human resources related functions
  • Develop skills and proficiency of existing staff members through coaching and guidance while leading by positive example
  • Consistently and effectively learn, coach and train existing and new products, as well as company services
  • Oversee, implement, and maintain compliance with company and OSHA guidelines to create and maintain a safe working environment for all associates
  • Conduct audits of team members to ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency
  • Evaluate performance objectives and metrics to determine inbound or outbound productivity requirements to achieve customer time, accuracy, and quality expectations
  • Meet with other managers and supervisors to coordinate efforts, identify and share any concerns or successes
  • Respond to issues causing disruption to production with the aim to rectify the situation quickly and competently
  • Create and implement programs and procedures designed to boost employee morale, thereby increasing the level of quality production
  • Determine, delegate, execute and follow-up on assignments as well as additional tasks assigned
  • Lead teams and team members to coincide with company goals concerning cost, culture, service, quality and safety
  • Understand, educate and train team members with regard to production goals and results

Working Relationships:

Effectively build, grow and maintain positive, professional internal and external relationships, which align with the Company policies, procedures, guidelines, principles, and core values.

Proactively establish and maintain positive & effective working relationships with team members and support department personnel.

Provide effective communication across multiple teams to ensure all departments are on the same page of company goals and standards.

Work in harmony with executive level operatives to assess long-term company goals and strategies towards continuous improvement.

Experience:

Distribution Center Environment / Team Leadership / Change Management / Operational Process Improvement / Logistics / Talent Development

Required Skills:

  • Basic Office Functions – Microsoft Office, E-Mail, Phones, Computers, and Interaction with Management
  • Possess strong leadership skills, including effective time management, prioritizing and delegation
  • Experience with managing multiple levels of leadership and employees (Preferred)
  • Exercise analytical skills in providing fact-based details to support ideas, recommendations, and analysis
  • Act comfortably and responsibly in a warehouse / distribution center environment
  • Work in distribution center/warehouse environment, the position involves continual lifting , lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 – 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs
  • Work in distribution center/warehouse environment, using stair ladders up to 15 feet tall

Salary: $45K - 60K
