How Do I Set Up a Polycom Conference 3-Way Call?

Depending on the Poly conference phone model, there are typically two ways to set up conference calls:

Using the Conference Soft Key

1. Be on an active two-way call.

2. Press the Conference button to place the other call on hold (pressing this button will also open a new conference phone line).

3. Once you hear the tone, dial the other recipient's number.

4. Press the Conference button again once the new caller joins the line. 

Using the Join Button

1. Two calls have to be active (either one is active, or the other is on hold, or both calls are on hold).

2. Press the Join button, found in the Calls or Lines view. 

3. All recipients will join the last line of the last active call.

How Do You Use a Poly Phone Speaker?

Most HP Poly VVX IP phones offer a built-in speakerphone that includes Acoustic Fence technology that keeps conversations free from unwanted noises around you improving voice clarity. Acoustic Fence is automatically active when the speakerphone is used. Using the speakerphone is easy:

• Press the Speakerphone key during a call, typically located on the lower right side of the device and place the handset in the cradle.

• To start a call on speakerphone, dial the phone number and press the speakerphone key. The phone will then dial the number. Once answered, you can begin speaking handsfree.

Does This Poly IP Phone Work with Microsoft Teams?

Yes and no. Poly VVX phones with Skype for Business can be adopted to work with Microsoft Teams via 3PIP gateway. Also, Microsoft will begin supporting basic calling with Poly Open-SIP phones by late 2021. For the best calling experience, select a Poly phone with native Microsoft Teams software and physical features like color touchscreen displays, and Teams feature button. Advantages of certified Microsoft Teams phones include calendar integration and one-touch meeting join, plus the devices can be deployed and managed by the Teams Admin Center. The native Teams devices are designed to be future proof, meaning that as Microsoft develops new settings and features, the devices will have the capability of adding those features for many years to come.
